Ms. Held received an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance and a Masters degree in Accounting from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Ms. Held is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Minnesota. She received her law degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota and is a licensed attorney in the State of Minnesota.
Following law school, Ms. Held clerked for the Honorable R.A. (Jim) Randall on the Minnesota Court of Appeals. As a law clerk, Ms. Held gained valuable research and writing experience and was exposed to a variety of legal issues. Subsequently, she worked at a small firm specializing in estate planning, real estate and small business issues.
Ms. Held has nearly five years experience as an international tax consultant at two of the Big Four public accounting firms. She specialized in merger and acquisition, restructuring and expansion planning for U.S.- and foreign-based corporations with international taxation issues, becoming well versed with the Internal Revenue Code.
Ms. Held’s tax background, legal and accounting experience and knowledge will enhance the estate planning and probate services provided to clients.
Ms. Held is a regular volunteer with the Wills for Heroes program where she drafts wills, advanced medical care directives and powers of attorney for first responders and their spouses in the State of Minnesota.
Ms. Held is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, Hennepin County Bar Association and Minnesota Women Lawyers. She is also a member of the Minnesota State Board of Accountancy, Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
